It’s the time of the year again! November marks the National Reading Month. To promote the love for reading and to celebrate the uniqueness of the English language, the English Department, in coordination with the Learning Resource Center, held its annual Bookfest and prepared various activities for all of our Graders. It was indeed a month-long celebration of talents and uniqueness.
On November, 18, 2020, graders gathered at the IHMA covered court to culminate the Bookfest. Everyone showcased their talents and confidence. The Grade 1 students presented their adorable Choral Recitation, the Grade 2 had their Choral Reading, the Grade 3 took the stage for their Speech Choir, the Grade 4 pupils presented their lively Jazz Chant, and the Grade 5 pupils had their fascinating stage play. The Grade 6-St. John Vianney class also presented a puppet show about the “Parable of Talents.”
Aside from the group events, selected Grade 6 pupils also participated in the Declamation contest. The most-awaited Book Character parade was also held where pupils dressed up in fancy costumes of their favorite book characters.
